Today I would like to take you to the beautiful intimate wedding of Welmoed and Zias. Welmoes, Zias and I met for a coffee and I immediately loved them. They were very down to earth and sweet. What especially stood out was their love story and Welmoeds love for her horse. Later on a puppy also joined the family and I couldn’t wait to meet them!
The day started off at the house of Welmoed’s parents in Veenendaal where I was handed cake as soon as I entered through the front door. (Big plus for that one!) Everyone was excited but very calmly enjoying their morning and getting ready for the big day. Welmoed’s dress from Assepoester looked amazing. A simple, elegant bohemian dress with a lace back. We were excitedly waiting for Zias to arrive with a Volkswagen bus only to be surprised!
I took Zias to a grass field a little further for the first look. He was super nervous and didn’t like the fact that I made him wait, but it was all worth it in the end. 😀 We then went to the photoshoot location where we climbed a hill and saw a military helicopter fly by as we were taking our photo’s. I was very impressed by these two as Welmoed was climbing the hill on her heels without any problem and I pretty much had to take a few breaks every now and then.
The wedding was a small intimate wedding with their family and closest friends. The rest of the wedding all happened at this stunning location called “Landgoed Hoekelum“. The ceremony is provided by an amazing civil servant that made us laugh till tears were shed. What also made the ceremonie extra cozy and intimate was the baby niece of the bride. She would crawl around and eventually ended up on the bride’s lap. I loved how everyone was able to embrace the hustle and bustle of the kids at the wedding. It’s one of the perks of having a real intimate wedding.
After the ceremonie the cake was cut. Topped with pigs and filled with M&M’s it was truly the most original wedding cake I got to photograph so far! (It tasted amazing btw)
We enjoyed amazing food provided by the location and were surprised by an act done by all the kids. After dessert Welmoed’s father provided an amazing and emotional speech. Lots of love was shared and tears were shed.
We ended the day outside for some fresh air and last photo’s before the sun would completely disappear in the horizon.
This day was truly about family and sharing your most special day with the people who you hold most dear to your heart. It was a magical day <3
